Orly: Halley's Comet

Today's color is Orly's "Hally's Comet" which is a part of Orly's Cosmic FX Collection. "Halley's Comet" changes color depending on the lighting, as you will see in the review. :)

These photos below are in the shade (no direct sunlight) and as you can see, the color is turquoise/blue-green. The photos are color accurate.

The wear is pretty awesome! I wore it for almost 5 days and no chips! This really might be one of my favorite polishes. And it's hard for me to say that about a color. But I just CAN with "Halley's Comet". This color is seriously beautiful, and I HIGHLY recommend it.

And I got this color at Sally's. :)

The picture above of the bottle shows the green/metallic/rainbow effect. :D

Claire's: Lime Yours

SO! Here is another review. Today's is Claire's "Lime Yours" which, in all honesty, I think should be called "Slime Yours". But let's just start the review.

This picture below is without a top coat and it is color accurate.

This picture below HAS a top coat (Seche Vite) and it is color accurate.

These next photos show the comparison between no top coat (left) and top coat (right).

As you can see, without a top coat, "Lime Yours" has a matte finish to it. The color is VERY streaky and sheer, but the drying time is pretty fast. I used 4 coats in the pictures, and as you can see, there is still a CLEARLY visible nail line. But hey, if you like that look, I'm not here to stop you. I'm just here to give you the facts of the polish, and my personal opinions about it. :D

With the top coat, "Lime Yours" looks like a jelly finish. This color is very... interesting. I'm not quite sure I would wear it out in public. It's just a little too... slime-y looking. I only had the color on for about 10 minutes before I took it off. LOL. Oh well. But anyone who DOES wear it in public, I admire you. :)

And I obviously got the polish at Claire's. Well, actually it was a gift from a few years ago and I just never used it. But the person who gave it to me got it from Claire's. So there. :D

O.P.I: Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow

As promised, here is my review on O.P.I's "Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow". It's quite a long name, but it's a nice polish. I hope everyone in the USA enjoyed their Thanksgiving! So, on to the review!

This color is a dark green creme with a slight shimmer that's really only visible in the sunlight. The photos are color accurate. These photos below had lots of light from the sun to really show the green and the shimmer.

I thought it would be a lot lighter in color on the nail, but it was very dark. For "Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow" I used 2 coats. I didn't want to add a third coat because then I thought the color would get even darker, and I didn't want it to look like it was black. But this color really warmed up to me, and now I love it. :D

These pictures have less direct sunlight and they show how dark the polish is.

And this last picture really shows the subtle shimmer of the color. :)

The drying time was average, and from what I can tell, the wear is good. I wore it for about 2-3 days and no chips. :) I really like this color on short nails, as with most darker colors. And I got this polish at Trade Secret. I always forget to say where I get each polish! Anyway, I really like this color, and I'll definitely wear it again. It's also a good green color for the holidays coming up!

Sally Hansen HD High Definition Nail Color: Hue

Hello! It's Thanksgiving for everyone in the United States! I currently have on "Lady Sings the Blues" because it goes with my dress for today, but I didn't want to put up a review for that color just yet, so I have for you all one of Sally Hansen's HD High Definition Nail Colors! I have four of them, and today I am showing you "Hue."

"Hue" is a yellow/gold shimmer polish with a pearl-y finish. The color indoors and outdoors is pretty much the same. :) I LOVE this polish. It's a really nice gold color. It's honestly like liquid gold. SO PRETTY!

For the pictures, I used three coats. "Hue" is streaky with one coat, and still has a visible nail line (VNL) with two coats. So I recommend the usual three.

I hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving/Thursday, wherever you are in the world! Spend time with your family, eat more than a healthy amount of food, and be happy! I am so thankful to all of my followers! 21! And I just started a little less than 2 months ago! I'm thankful for my friends, my family (especially my sister), and the existence of nail polish! You Don't Know Jacques with Purple Dots

Hello, Everyone! I have another design that has 2 versions. Same design, but I just added more to it after a day. So here are the pictures of the first version.

Colors used:

• O.P.I: You Don't Know Jacques
• China Glaze: Spontaneous

To make this design, I just used 3 coats "You Don't Know Jacques". If you don't have this color... all I can say is, GET IT NOW. Please. :) "You Don;t Know Jacques" is just an awesome color that looks gray/brown and looks more brown or more gray depending on the light. ANYWAY. Then I used a bobby pin to make the dots using "Spontaneous." Then I added my large rhinestone on the fourth fingernail. And lastly the top coat.
The next version is the same thing, but I just added white dots in the purple dots.

I used Sally Hansen's nail art pen in white to make the tiny dots. :)

The first design, without the white dots, is very subtle . You can barely see the purple dots unless your nails are in direct sunlight or if you look at them up close. But it's nice. I like the subtleness factor. :D

Palm Trees!

Hello, Everyone! I have a simple nail design today. I actually did these nails and took these pictures back in October, before I cut my nails short. But I have TWO versions today, so YAY. :D

Colors used:

• China Glaze: Four Leaf Clover
• Konad Special Nail Polish: White

To make this design, I used 3 coats of "Four Leaf Clover" and then used a top coat. Then I used my Konad Special Nail Polish in white for the palm trees. And of course I have to add my small pink rhinestone on my fourth fingernail. And lastly I applied a top coat again.

The next version I like to call "Snowing Palm Trees" and you will see why.

Colors used:

• China Glaze: Four Leaf Clover
• Konad Special Nail Polish: White
• China Glaze: White on White

This is the same design as above, but it simply has white dots, that happen to look like snow. That was not intentional. I was just experimenting because I was bored with the design after a day. I used China Glaze's "White on White" for the white dots and to make the dots I used a bobby pin.

I have an idea of ONLY doing Christmas/winter/holiday nail designs during December. We shall see!

Strawberry Nails

Hello, Everyone! It was only a matter of time before I did this design. I've seen several blogs with this design, so I thought I'd try it out. :) So, I present to you, Strawberry Nails.

Colors used:

• O.P.I: Ate Berries in the Canaries
• China Glaze: Four Leaf Clover
• China Glaze: Black Diamond

To make this design, I first started off with 3 coats of "Ate Berries in the Canaries". Then, I used "Four Leaf Clover" to make the green stem of the strawberry. For the seeds, I didn't want to use a straight black color because I was afraid it would be too intense, so I used "Black Diamond" which is a sheer-black shimmer polish. To make the dots I used a bobby pin! And of course I put a top coat after everything was mostly dry because I didn't want the black dots to smear.
